Oh Man!

It seems that I am no good at finding a job! I wonder how hard others actually work to find a new job, and I wonder if I am working as hard as them? I think I am not trying hard enough, but I think there is a perfectly good explanation for that!

First, I am not so confident with my skill set, and after having a past employer tell me that my lack of skills was the reason I wouldn't be getting a raise, I was convinced. I have had a bunch of different horribly paying jobs that have not related to one another. I have never made more than $35,000 a year, my last position was completely glorified and bogus and now I am in a rut and have no idea what to apply to.

I have had 2 interviews since June, both of which I was convinced I would receive a second interview. No such luck! I was brought in to take a test for a part time library position I failed because the test was WACK! After asking one of the 45 people taking the test (that is how desperate people are to get even a P/T job) we agreed that the questions made no sense and there wasn't a study guide!

Monster, CTjobs, headhunters, they are all a total waste of my time and I have had 0 response from any of them! I am a full time mom. Being a stay at home mom takes 100% of my time and all hours of my day, regardless of my mother thinking taking Karis for an hour a couple days a week should help. The truth is, nothing gets done! The house is a mess, I never seem to get in the shower before 9 p.m. and I am shot by 7 p.m..

Truth be told, the whole thing is driving me crazy and I am not sure what I should do now. Wellbutren here I come.

Greatest Scent Ever!

My mother had a candle burning on her mantle last week that smelled so heavenly I needed to have it. A true mom, she, unbeknown to me, stuck the candle in my daughter's diaper bag as a gift! I was so happy to have found the hidden candle when I got home. I have been burning it ever since and loving all of the candles aroma therapy! Whitebarn Cinnamon Vanilla! So yummy scrumptious I must order a million more so I will always have this scent!

Here is where it gets a little tricky, can't find the scent online and Bath and Body Works, so I am hoping after I call a few stores around G-bury...I will find my lovely candle! Wish me luck!

Not much else to mention, things are going very well and have improved. However, we are chanting the, "one day at a time" mantra and I don't intend to forget it! Confused? Yeah, I know! Me too.

OMG My BFF!!!

I love her so much, and you do too even though you don't know it yet. My BFF Kate is the most bestest friend ever and the world's greatest blogger/writer ever! I love her so! Oh wait, I already said that. I am not the worlds greatest blogger/writer ever...bear with me (is it spelled bear)?

I didn't have much to say tonight that stayed out of the personal, but THEN Kate tipped me off! Are you getting how cool she is yet? Check it out...Kate says in her latest blog...

The grocery issue has been resolved. I left the grocery receipt out for Brian’s review and told him my mom and Helen pay at least $120 each week for groceries (and sometimes still run out of food) so I think he’s coming around to the notion that food is costly. Vindication!I think I’m finally tired of Amy’s burritos. Too much of a good thing. I guess. And who else is bored by Grey’s Anatomy? Can something interesting happen? Pretty please? Grazie.Tomorrow I carve pumpkins!Happy weekend!

So! No biggie Wade, tell your man we spend the same as mom and Helen, not that it makes it much better, but I think that is exactly the norm right now depression looming and all. I have no idea what Amy's burritos are, but I can fully understand getting tired of anything in that store aisle at this point...I need not say more because I don't want to piss off some Head's that have no idea where I am coming from. Just know that I know that stuff has a tendency to get old after a while.

T.V. I love it so! Not Grey's though, yuck! So far this season I am once again addicted to Ghost Whisperer, and Numbers (I am a forever sucker for the repeated algorithm). For the new stuff, I am totally diggin on The Mentalist (hotty Mchotty) and The Ex List. I am NOT a fan of the new 90210, that sh&% is confusing as all get out and they should have just left well enough alone. Am I right? Are we going to split hair's?

Pumpkins, yes, I believe this is the perfect weekend for carving Head...carve it up! We'll have to exchange picks to see how they all came out! Love you to bits!

Pumpkin Town U.S.A.

Oh joyest of joys! Mid October in the great CT means many fun things such as apple fests galore, pumpkins, cider, yummy apple doughnuts, beautiful unmatched foliage, lots of that wonderful fake spider web stuff stretched across anything that stands still and of course, Pumpkintown U.S.A!

Being the festive mom that I am, I brought my 2 year old along with my mother, aunt and twin 5 year old cousins to Pumpkintown today! Oh the fun we had, and oh the back ache I plan on having tomorrow!

After Pumpkintown we stopped in Marlborough Pizza for a bite to eat. Shocked and disgusted are a few good adjectives for the way I feel whenever I travel back to my tiny hometown(it has changed so much). Marlborough Pizza (which I never thought would change) was a staple in ALL townie diets for the past 30 years. The family that owned it was known by all, the daughter was a friend of mine growing up, and their son's son was recently on Letterman or some such show because he is 2 and gifted. (The entire family is gifted, but I don't want to stray too far from my point) OK, Shock and dismay...I noticed right away as we pulled into the parking lot that there was a new permitee posted above the door! OMG! The pizza place is under new ownership and what do you know!!! The food was less than appealing! Ughhh! Not cool!

Something else historical not only for myself but for New England as a whole...the famous Marlborough Barn www.marlboroughbarn.com has closed! Jeez Louise! My mother bought all of her curtains there, they were the best! My grandmother from LI NY bought a coffee table there when I was 5 and she STILL has it! So sad that it has closed! Please don't let them close The Marlborough Tavern! George Washington himself stayed there AND there are said to be secret tunnels in the basement that were part of underground railroad.

Oh! Tonight we're having pot roast! Another New England favorite of mine...I am telling you this is the place to be in the fall! My daughter and I are also going to do a fun craft project with fallen leaves, crayons, wax paper and an iron! Should be fun! I'll post pics tomorrow if it works!

Peace Out!

Introduction To The Positive

Right now I am in the midst of some major changes in my life. These changes not only require tremendous strength on my part, but also a serious amount of focus on the positive to shut out all of the negative. Without boring you all with the details, I thought blogging about things I like, stuff that keeps me happy, motivated and most importantly going forward, would be a great idea! So, welcome to the beginning of my positive blog!

I spent my evening online surfing around, mainly t.v. schedules for the latest Halloween happenings (I am a huge fan of Halloween, horror movies and the like). Here are some links if you are also as big a fan as I am, www.scifi.com, www.amctv.com, www.fearnet.com, and www.tvguide.com .

Oh, I also became a member of Yahoo Answers! My nickname is Elar and I am still setting up the security settings, but see if you can find me in there!

One question: What is the deal with the Duggers??? Could someone please tie that woman's tubes! 17 and counting! I saw a show one time where a dog had too many litters and her uterus was so shot and stretched out, they had to remove it. That is all I am going to say about that!
